About

Therapy is a method for exploring your various motivations for change so that you can gain freedom from unhealthy patterns, meaning from traumatic experiences and skills to communicate with your unconscious self. I am a counselor with over 18 years of experience. I can help you discover the strength inside you to make positive changes in your life. I use a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Jungian/Transpersonal Depth Pyschology Principles to help you increase your motivation, build skills for a healthier lifestyle and find meaning to overcome your unhealthy patterns through individual, personalized sessions. Join me in exploring your hero’s journey.

The Greek Myth of Ariadne and the Hero Theseus is a guide to the therapy process. Ariadne with her red thread acts as an anchor as Theseus explores the inner world of the Labyrinth. He is free to explore the twists and turns because he knows that he can find his way out again. As he descends into the maze he reaches the center, where he faces his daemon the Minotaur and defeats him. He ascends back through the network of passageways back into the daylight. He is able to return transformed by the experience, with new insights, and confidence in his abilities to face adversity with successful outcomes. You too can be the hero of your own story.

I provide a guide in therapy as you explore your inner thought, beliefs, emotions and varying motivations to change. Together through practice, we help you build the skills you need to overcome your unhealthy patterns and reduce your suffering. When you return from your journey, I help you make meaning out of the struggle and maintain the hard fought changes that you have won.
